EDO 2024: My Administration Will End Poverty In Edo, says PRP's Candidate Ndidi Ofure Key

The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, for the September 21st Edo guber election, Ndidi Key Ofure Patience , nee Uwagboe has vowed to effectively implement the developmental programmes of her manifesto, such as affordable health care, skills acquisition program, agribusiness, tourism and many others to drastically reduce poverty and end pervasive suffering in the state.

She stated this  yesterday  at Ogua Community, Ofuwenegbe Ward 5, Ovia North East Local Government, Ukhiri Eresoyen Ward 8, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government area and Ore-Oghene,  Ward 5,  Oredo Local Government area of the state.

Ofure Key, the only female candidate in the September 21st election thanked the three communities for the opportunity given her to meet with them and what she want to do for the people of Edo State if elected governor.

According to her, she was not there to make unnecessary promises she won't be able to fulfill, but promises that  programmes and policies in the manifesto  would improve the quality of lives of the people through the judicious use of available resources in the state.

"We must work together to put the right person as governor of Edo State in order to achieve good governance which will lead to quality health care delivery to ensure the well being of the people, especially to curb maternal and child mortality in the state.

" It is our plan to have a good skills acquisition program where the teaming youths who cannot go through school will have the opportunity to learn various trades of their choice and make a living from it. We will also have a good agricultural program for us to be self sufficient in food production. To achieve this we must invest in the area of security in order to effectively protect the Farmers from being attacked by invaders. Edo State can create  a global furniture hup that can generate huge revenue for the state".

Ofure Key, a former chairman of Nigeria in the Diaspora in the United States of America, promised to joined hands with the Diaspora community to bring development to the state if elected governor. 

"I want a better life for our people because we have the resources to do that.

"Our biggest agenda in our manifesto is to touch the lives of the people. We have intelligent people in our state who are very creative.  We will harness that to make things work. Poverty promotes hunger and anger. I'm here as your daughter to put things in proper place that would bring succour to our people so that they can smile again. Let us sincerely joined hands together to work for the party to win"

As for the problem of  human trafficking, she said as former chairman of the Diaspora in the US they were able to find some solutions towards the reduction of human trafficking in Edo State, having worked with the Nigeria government and other diplomatic mission in the world. She particularly  lauded the effort 
of the Oba of Benin Kingdom, Oba Ewuare II for the role he has played so far in reducing human trafficking in Edo State and Nigeria in general.

She equally emphasize on tourism in the state, which she said is generating so much revenue to some countries, adding that such can be achieved in Edo State if we revitalize our cultural heritage and put all the necessary machinery in place it will be a global tourist ground  that will attract foreigners to the State during holidays.

She reminded them that her party PRP  was established by  late Aminu Kano of blessed memory just for the purpose of reducing poverty among Nigerians. She therefore, appealed to Edo people to key into the fold of the party and saved the people from abject poverty. She also said that if the policies of government are not friendly it will negatively affected the people and those who engage in different businesses.

On their part, spokespersons of the communities visited, Elder Sunday Bazuaye, Comrade Efosa Ada and others said they were satisfied with the governorship candidate's  presentations and promised to work for the party in order to  achieve victory come the September 21st polls.

In a brief interview shortly after the tour she said she was overwhelmed looking at the enthusiasm and support she got from the people in all the communities visited. She promised to sincerely work for them in order to justify the trust they have in her and end their sufferings.

She was accompanied on the campaign tour by her deputy Governorship candidate, Ojo Advice Abuomwande, the state chairman of the party,  Dr. Greg Igbinomwanhia, State Secretary, Jeffery Imonmion and other members of the party.
