The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Engr. Marvelous Omobayo, has described Liberty American Leadership Academy as a unique citadel of learning where children are trained for exemplary leadership, sound ethical and moral values, as fundamental principles of life.
The Deputy Governor, represented by the Director, office of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Ganiyatu Uwaifo, made this assertion yesterday in Benin City during the opening and commissioning of the Liberty American Leadership Academy.
Engr. Omobayo said as a responsible government, the present administration under the purposeful leadership of Gov. Godwin Obaseki since assumption of office in 2016, has invested huge resources in transforming the education sector as well as retraining of teaching staff.
Continuing, Omobayo said despite the economic challenges besetting Nigeria, it was heartwarming to see management of the great Academy put the structure for conducive teaching and learning.
"Like they say education is everybody's business. While quality education, as being offered by your academy, can only be provided by well meaning individuals and organizations whose passion is to positively impact society and humanity", he said.
He congratulated the proprietor and investor, management and staff of the school for their outstanding feat and being formidable.
Earlier in his remarks, the proprietor of the school, Mr. and Mrs Okeze Aigbe Liberty, said the school placed much importance on education as the bedrock and future of children, adding that the school was committed to providing safe and stimulating enriched environment where every child will excell.
"To our prospective students and parents, we are assuring you that your presence with us is just the begining and a stepping stone in the future leaders skills in your child. As we embarked on this journey we are rendering you our core values, vision and mission in raising young leaders".
The proprietor emphasized that by establishing the school in a village community, instead of Government Reservation Area or city, was deliberate so that not only the rich children will have access to good education, but to also give opportunity to the children of the poor to access it.
He also said that it was for that reason he was giving back to the society.
He thanked the guests for joining the school in this epoc making ceremony and wished them safe journey back to their respective places.
Highlight of the event was the official opening of the school by the representative of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Ganiyatu Uwaifo.
