In a significant development for Edo State, Governor Obaseki has approved the creation of the Esan Enterprise Park, a 400-hectare industrial layout aimed at bolstering the state's industrial capacity.
Kelvin Uwaibi, the Managing Director of the Edo State Investment Promotion Office, revealed that the new park is part of an ongoing initiative to develop industrial parks and business clusters across the state. Currently, Edo State boasts two active industrial parks, and there are plans for further expansion to meet investor interest in Edo Central and Edo North. For instance, efforts are underway to establish a mechanic village in Auchi, demonstrating the proactive approach of local government officials to attract investments.
The state's commitment to fostering business growth is evident in its thorough approach to signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). A notable success story is the MoU signed two years ago with a development partner, which has since led to a €3 million investment in the state's agricultural sector.
Highlighting the potential of the Esan Enterprise Park, the project will be driven primarily by private sector initiatives. The state is currently inviting investment proposals and seeking profiles of industrious individuals from Edo State's private sector to serve on the advisory board. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their profiles to invest@edostate.gov.ng. This strategic move aims to harness the expertise and resources of Edo's sons and daughters, as well as friends of the state, to ensure the park's success.
