Day two of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s Ward To Ward Campaign got off to a spectacular start on Friday as a mammoth, jubilant crowd  welcomed the candidate of the party, Dr Asue Ighodalo, and the party train to Uduna/Oghede ward in Ovia North East Local Government Area.

The jubilant crowd repeatedly chanted, "man wen sabi, you are our next governor,"  "Asue-Ogie na our own and oduna / Oghede is for you," amongst others.

In his opening remarks, the PDP Chairman for Ovia North East, Hon. Monday Enihoro, thanked the people for coming out en-masse to receive the PDP governorship candidate and the campaign team. He urged them to continue to support the party.

On his part, Chairman of Ovia North East Local Government Council, Hon. Collins Osamede Ogbeiwe, also thanked the people for their support for PDP and the support given to him during the local government council election.

He highlighted projects by the state government in the LGA to include the Ekewan Road on going project, Gelegele project, rural electrification projects and others. He said Oduna and Oghede ward has never disappointed PDP and they will not disappoint this time.

The council chairman charged the people to get their PVCs ready and vote the 'Umbrella'.

Addressing the people, the Edo State PDP chairman Dr. Tony Aziegbemi and the Director general of the PDP governorship Campaign Council, Hon. Matthew Iduoriyekemwen both charge the people to vote PDP, noting that the PDP is the only party that fulfills promises and gives good governance.

Addressing the jubilant crowd, the PDP governorship candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, said when voted into power, his administration would empower the women, the youth in their different businesses as well as give support to the elderly.

He further said that when elected, his administration would partner the people  and leadership of markets to improve infrastructure in the market as well as revamping agriculture in the local government.

He also promised that his administration will complete the on going Gelegele Seaport and the Ekewan Road project to maximise the economic activities in the local government and Edo State in general.

Ighodalo appreciated the people of Oduna and Oghede for their show of love, support and confidence and assured that when elected, the ward and  local government certainly  enjoy due consideration in every thing government does.

As at the time of filling this report, the train was heading towards other wards. Watch out for the reports.
