EDO 2024: Why Edo People Will Settle For Ighodalo

By Ehichioya Steve Odion

The coast is getting  clearer by the day  for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  Asue Ighodalo to over run other candidates in the forthcoming  gubernatorial election slated for September 21st as Edo voters have made up their minds to vote him overwhelmingly.

The reason is not far fetch as he is the only candidate who has genuinely presented his manifesto to the people in an avowed bid to deliver the dividends of democracy to them when elected.

The manifesto titled:  Prosperity for All is designed to attend to all sectors of the state's economy that will engender growth and development and consequently improve the quality  lives of residents.

Apart from this beautiful and reassuring manifesto,  Asue  Ighodalo is the only candidate known to the people who speaks to the issues affecting the people and dissects the governance module to tackle them head-on if elected.
There is no doubt this has endeared him to the generality of the people.

But for other candidates, it has always been a blame game which the people have seen or predicted that such candidates lack what Ighodalo has got in abundance to deliver for Edo people.

In the areas of  preparedness, capacity to deliver on promises, credibility, competence, diligence and experience  Asue Ighodalo has been rated higher amongst other contenders in the race.  In fact, he is the only candidate who has spent part of his quality time  in the  electioneering campaign to interface with the people in their various communities, in town hall meetings, including holding consultation with those in the  Diaspora.

This has given the people the opportunity to properly engage him by asking questions on how he intends to  fix Edo's economy and better the lives of the people.

It is no longer news that Asue Ighodalo popularity among the people has continued to grow steadily because the people have come to understand and flow with all his programmes of action to work for them If elected governor come September 21st this Year.

This he has achieved through the  regular process of  meeting with the real stakeholders who are conversant with the social and economic challenges facing the State.

It's instructive to note that all relevant stakeholders in the state and country have  grilled and assessed him extensively in all areas of development in order to test his ability and capacity to handle the affairs of the state with  zeal and determination.

With this robust engagement the people have come to the conclusion that Asue Ighodalo is the one and only candidate fit for the job and have openly decided to mobilise Edo people to vote for him overwhelmingly.

Asue Ighodalo's compassion and empathy for the people cannot be hidden as it radiates from his speeches at every engagement with the people he is preparing to govern.  He has become very familiar with the issues development in the state and how to respond and tackle them effectively.

His eloquence in speech and versatility in orientation has continued to  give sleepless night to  other candidates who have little or no idea of how to govern  Edo State .

The youths that played major role in all election have since queued  behind  Ighodalo because they have seen the quality of his programmes and all he intends to do for them in the state.  Therefore, Edo youths have unanimously endorsed him and are presently working for his election through out the state.  There is no doubt this has continued to encourage Asue Ighodalo as he works harder in the meet with the people campaign across the state.

Ighodalo has made a bold statement  too that Edo people will not be  poor again and this has sounded loud in the ear of the people and they believe that the man will not fail in this direction due to his commitment to his social  contract with the people.

Therefore, the Edo people  have wholeheartedly committed to support the  "Man Wey Sabi" , the man they trust, the man they love and the man they believe will  not fail to deliver the dividends of democracy to them.
