EDO 2024: I'm Still In The Race, says LP Candidate, Akpata

By Ehichioya Steve Odion

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP,  Olumide Akpata, SAN, said that he was still in the race and asked his supporters to disregard such rumour suggesting that he has stepped down from the race.

He made this  disclosed this  evening in Benin City during a press briefing to  debunk the rumour making the  round that he has stepped down for Dr. Asue Ighodalo.

"It not true. I am in this race. I remained in the race. That is what Edo people need. Those who said I have stepped down from the race are lying".

He said that it is the hand work of those politicians who have nothing to offer in the state, adding that he will reject any attempt to deceive his followers. "There is no  iota  of truth that says we are no longer in the race. We are solidly there. We are looking forward to seeing my reward come to fruition".

"To the architects of this forgery , I will not rest until I uncover every individual involved in this criminal act. You will face the full force of the law and justice will be served "

" I  urge all  the  Edo people to disregard this lost kick of a dying horse. Please go out and exercise you franchise tomorrow. Together we will overcome these underhanded tactics and usher in the transformative leadership our state so richly reserves". ".
