Late Tony Anenih tells Esan to be Wary of Oshiomhole ahead of election in a viral video

The late Chief Tony Anenih's warning to his Esan kinsmen regarding Comrade Adams Oshiomole was brought to light once again ahead of  the Edo governorship election.

The late Chief Anenih held the prestigious title of Iyasele of Esan land, which carried significant authority and respect.

A video of Chief Anenih, also known as Mr Fix It, surfaced, in which he advised his kinsmen about Oshiomole's antagonistic policies towards the district during his eight years as the governor.

The reappearance of the video is seen as a tactic by the some PDP  supporters in the district to discredit Sen Oshiomole, who is leading the Edo APC gubernatorial campaign,.

In the video, Chief Anenih urged his kinsmen to distance themselves from Oshiomhole, emphasizing that during his tenure as governor, he openly displayed animosity towards the Esan people.

However, political analysts are questioning the timing of the video, considering it a setback for the APC gubernatorial candidate, Sen Monday Okpevbolo, who is heavily supported by Sen Oshiomhole.

The Esan people constitute the Edo central senatorial district, from which both the PDP and APC gubernatorial candidates have emerged.

In a viral video, the late Chief Anenih mentioned a proposed federal government water project for the district.

He stated that the project would have addressed the district's severe water shortage and provided relief to the people. However, the former governor refused to pay the counterpart funding, which was a condition for the World Bank-funded project, and as a result, the project was truncated and Esan land still wallows in water shortage

Pundits believe that the late Chief Anenih's words have been validated by recent remarks attributed to Sen Oshiomole during the APC primary in which he tried to justify why an Esan person should not be given the APC gubernatorial ticket.

Oshiomole's sudden support for Okpevbolo is seen as an attempt to save face.
