Former Labour Party Guber Aspirant, Princess Asha- Okojie Buries Mum In Style

Benin City,  the  capital of Edo State was at a stand still during the weekend as dignitaries across the globe converge at the social event that climaxed the burial  ceremony ofl  late Madam princess Lucy Okojie, the mother of the former Labour party Governorship  aspirant in the Edo 2024 Governorship election, Amb. Princess  Asha- Okojie.

Late Madam Princess Lucy Okojie, nee Ovonlen hails from Uromi,  Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State. She was born in December  12, 1945 and died  in 2024 at the age of 79 years.

Princess Lucy Okojie was a woman of grace, profound wisdom. She was a guiding light to her children and nurtured and encouraged them with love,  discipline and the fear of God. Her devotion extended to her role as a grand mother and great-grand mother, where she left cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

As a  true pillar  of her family, she was said to have dedicated her time and resources to the upliftment of others, leaving behind a legacy of  service, generosity and selflessness. She was also a listening ear and rendered all necessary advice 

Madam Princess Lucy will forever be remembered for the indelible impact she made on the lives of those who were fortunate to have known her when she lived.

In her tribute, one of her daughters, Princess Amb. Emily Asha- Okojie said her mother was not just a mother,   but also a teacher, confidant and a guiding light. She said her life was a masterpiece of love, faith and selflessness.

"You taught me the true meaning of strength and grace. I watched you face challenges with unwavering faith and resilience that inspired everyone around you. Your kindness and compassion knew no boundaries. You opened your heart and your house to so many, thereby creating a legacy of love that  has outlived you".

Princess Asha- Okojie in her remarks said she will always remember her warmth, beautiful smile and the way her presence brought peace and comfort to everyone. She said her dear mother had the ability to bring people together,  heal wounds with words of encouragement.

She thanked her mother for being her rock, inspiration and for teaching her how to live a purposeful life worthy of emulation.

She promised to honour her memory in every day of her life by reliving her virtues that bonded the family.

She expressed her gratitude  to those  who created time to honour their invitation.
